Resolving Owner/Mechanic Disputes
FAA AMT & Wings Credit
Mike Busch

Few things are more upsetting to an aircraft owner than getting into a disagreement with a mechanic. That's especially true if the aircraft is in the middle of its annual inspection and the mechanic says he can't sign it off unless the owner agrees to do something expensive (like overhauling the engine) that the owner really doesn't want to do. Maintenance expert and owner advocate Mike Busch offers a sure-fire three-step method for dealing with such situations with minimal stress and bloodshed.
8/20/14
7 p.m. CDT
Scott Sky Smith

Tips, tricks and new ideas that pilots and owners can use to keep their aircraft flying affordably. Covering basic cost of ownership, ownership alternatives, owner-assisted annuals, insurance tips, training issues, simulators and other ways to reduce maintenance costs.
8/27/14

Arty Trost

Arty Trost has been flying two-cycle powered ultralights and ultralight-type experimental aircraft for 25 years. She has taken cross county flying to the extreme: for the past fifteen years she has made annual long distance flights averaging 3-4 weeks and several thousand miles. In 2009 she flew her Maxair Drifter from Sandy, Oregon to Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, Florida, a flight that took seven weeks and covered 7500 miles. Join Arty as she passes along lesson learned and tips for flying long cross country flights in low-mass and high-drag airplanes.
