OK....we saw the Documentary, so now it's time to watch the Movie...This is a great Flick....should be fun!

 

 

Apollo 13

Technical troubles scuttle the Apollo 13 lunar mission in 1971, risking the lives of astronaut Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks) and his crew in director Ron Howard's chronicle of this true-life story, which turns a failed journey into a thrilling saga of heroism. 2011 Banquet at St. James

The St. James Inn in Avilla is again the location for our VAA Chapter

37 Banquet on Saturday, March 19th. Our get-together is in the upstairs

banquet room and begins at 6pm with “Happy Hour” and a cash bar. Dinner

begins at 7pm. The menu includes the following excellent choices:

North Atlantic Cod - $19.00

8-Oz. Ribeye - $19.00

Broasted Chicken - $15.00

* Prices include tax and gratuity

All dinners are served with baked potato, salads, and fresh baked bread.

Bean or chicken noodle soup is available for an additional $1.25 per person.

VAA Chapter 37 will provide all nonalcoholic beverages at no charge. Contact

Drew or Nancy Hoffman at 260-693-9747 to make your reservations and

entrée selection by Sunday, March 13th. If you need to change your plans,

cancellations may be made up until March 16th by contacting Drew. Geoff

Robison will collect payment the night of the dinner. (No-shows are asked to

cover the cost of their selection) Driving Directions: The St. James Restaurant

is at 204 E. Albion St., Avilla, IN, 46710. Albion Street is also Hwy 8 thru

Avilla. The St. James Inn is a little East of Old Hwy 3 on Hwy 8. Join us for

Memphis Belle

The B-17 Flying Fortress known as the Memphis Belle completed a remarkable 25 bombing runs during her World War II service. This film tells the story of the airmen who risked it all to fulfill those combat missions and bring their craft safely home. The program makes use of original material director William Wyler shot for his famed 1944 documentary and also contains unseen footage of the U.S. Air Force over Europe between 1943 and 1945.
