Hello VAA Volunteer,
It has been a crazy fall.
Back in November a strong wind came though Oshkosh and blew over our new
Archway sign. During the fall inspection of our area we found that the floor is
rotting out of the old Membership Building. The Vintage Board of Director has
asked us to redesign and rebuild the corner.
The above drawing is are new design. We want to build a new
Membership Building and a new Volunteer Building. The buildings will be 12ft by 12ft with an 8
foot wide porch on two sides. The good
news is these buildings will be put on concrete slabs. Steve Taylor is building us two new Archway
Signs with metal poles to place on the corner and the road by the old Vintage
Café.
The Vintage Board wants to move the Author’s Building and
they want us to build a covered porch on the front of it.
The area where the Vintage Café stood is now ours to
use. There are many new things going on
in that area. The only thing we are responsible for is the porch on the
Author’s Building.
Dave Wenglazer of Wings Metal
Works, donated an industrial compressor and we need to install. We need to connect the electricity and plumb
the air from the metalworking area to Paul’s corner of the Hangar.
As you can tell there is a lot to
be done and we definitely need your help to accomplish it all. Please come up and join us for one or all of the
Work Weekends. The Work Weekends are
April 24, 25, and 26, May 29, 30, and 31, and June 26, 27, and 28.
